Raisel Iglesias suffered a loss to the Dodgers on Sunday after surrendering five runs in two-thirds of an inning following a tie game.

On Sunday, Raisel Iglesias (5-2) took the loss against the Dodgers by giving up five runs on four hits and a walk in just two-thirds of an inning. In a tied game, Iglesias managed to retire two of the first three batters he faced, but then allowed a triple to Will Smith. The Braves chose to intentionally walk Shohei Ohtani to face Mookie Betts, who then drove in the go-ahead run for the Dodgers. Iglesias couldn't secure the final out, leading to Freddie Freeman hitting a single to bring in two more runs, followed by Teoscar Hernández hitting a two-run homer. This performance was unexpected from Iglesias, who hadn't allowed an earned run since June 16 and hadn't given up more than two hits since April 24. Despite this setback, Iglesias is having a standout season with a 1.87 ERA, 0.72 WHIP, and a 64:12 K:BB ratio in 62.2 innings. He is just four saves away from setting a new career high.

Randy Arozarena had a productive game against the Rangers on Sunday, going 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, and getting hit by a pitch.

The hit by pitch seemed to be a consequence of his celebration after hitting the home run, almost causing a potential altercation that was avoided when Arozarena instructed his teammates to remain in the dugout. Fortunately, the pitch hit him on the elbow guard, causing no harm.

This marked Arozarena's 20th home run of the season, making it his first 20-homer/20-HBP season. He has achieved 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases for four consecutive years, but the 20 hit by pitches hold more significance, particularly considering his high number of caught stealing incidents in the MLB since 2021, which stands at 41.

Yariel Rodríguez gave up three hits and one run with two strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings during a no-decision against the Cardinals on Sunday.

Yariel Rodríguez allowed one run on three hits and a walk in 4.1 innings on Sunday without factoring into the decision. He recorded two strikeouts in the victory against St. Louis. Yariel pitched four scoreless innings before the Cardinals scored a run in the fifth. In his last 11 outings, he has not pitched more than six innings, posting a 4.75 ERA and a 0-3 record over 47.1 innings. Yariel has a 4.29 ERA with a 77:35 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 77.2 innings this season. He is scheduled to start his next game in Tampa Bay.

Adrián Morejón secured a save in the Padres' victory over the Giants in extra innings on Sunday.

Adrián Morejón, who pitched one inning, giving up an unearned run without conceding a hit or a walk, earned the save in the 4-3 win over the Giants on Sunday. Despite regular closer Robert Suarez's ninth-inning struggles resulting in a blown save, the Padres managed to take the lead in the 10th inning. Morejón then successfully closed out the game, securing his second career save in his last 15 appearances. During this period, he has allowed seven runs (six earned) in 13.2 innings. With a 3.00 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and a 67:20 K:BB ratio with 10 holds in 60 innings this season, the left-handed pitcher has emerged as a reliable option for crucial situations in the Padres' strong bullpen.

Aroldis Chapman secured a save by pitching a scoreless inning against the Royals on Sunday.

On Sunday, Aroldis Chapman earned the save against Kansas City by striking out one batter in a flawless ninth inning. Chapman is now the designated closer for the Pirates, and although he has successfully converted five of six save opportunities since August 31, the 36-year-old has given up six runs in 6.1 innings. In total, Chapman holds a 4.11 ERA with nine saves and a 5-5 record.

Yordan Alvarez failed to get any hits on Sunday.

Despite hitting his 34th home run of the season on Saturday, Yordan Alvarez went 0-for-3 with two walks and a strikeout in Sunday's 6-4 victory against the Angels. Nonetheless, his homer on Saturday marked his sixth of the month, as he now holds a .269 batting average (14-for-52) with 13 RBIs and seven runs scored for the month. Yordan's overall stats for the year include a slash line of .308/.393/.568 slugging percentage, 83 runs, and 84 RBIs.

Yoán Moncada is set to return from the 60-day injured list on Monday.

According to Scott Merkin of MLB.com, Yoán Moncada has joined the White Sox and is anticipated to be activated from the 60-day injured list on Monday. The 29-year-old has been out of action since April due to an adductor strain, but he seems prepared to rejoin the active roster following a 12-game rehab stint with Triple-A Charlotte. Moncada had only played in 11 games before the injury, but he aims to end the season on a high note as he is likely to enter free agency this offseason, with the White Sox expected to decline his $25 million club option for 2025.

Miguel Vargas was once again not starting in the game against the A’s on Sunday.

Despite facing a left-handed pitcher this time, Vargas was on the bench. Despite his poor performance since joining the White Sox from the Dodgers, it seems illogical for the team to prioritize giving at-bats to Gavin Sheets over him against a left-handed pitcher. Nevertheless, that is the decision being made. For the record, Sheets has a career batting average of .162/.214/.222 in 168 plate appearances against left-handed pitchers. If Yoán Moncada is able to return from the injured list today, both players may see a decrease in their playing time.

Adolis García was absent from the lineup on Sunday.

Adolis García did not feature in the lineup for the Mariners game on Sunday. He has been struggling, going 3-for-29 in his last eight games, leading to his absence on Sunday, which marks the end of his streak of 39 consecutive starts.
