Phillies 3, Braves 1


In Game 4 of the National League Division Series, the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Atlanta Braves 3-1. Thus, the Phillies won the best-of-five series 3-1. With this win, the Phillies advance to the National League Championship Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, which starts on Monday. A number of players contributed to the Phillies' victory on Thursday. The Braves' most potent regular-season offense was held to just one run by Ranger Suárez and the Phillies bullpen, as Nick Castellanos homered twice becoming the first player in postseason history with back-to-back multi-HR games, and Trea Turner recorded his first four-hit game in postseason history. The Braves brought in closer Raisel Iglesias in the eighth inning.Iglesias struck out Johan Rojas with five pitches to record one out.The 2023 postseason ended earlier than expected for Iglesias.During the regular season, the Cuban closer saved 33 games. In this series, he threw 2 1/3 perfect innings with two strikeouts and a converted save opportunity.
