Aroldis Chapman secures a save on Saturday.

Aroldis Chapman had a stellar performance on Saturday, striking out two batters in a flawless ninth inning to secure his fifth save of the season in a 3-0 victory against the Guardians. The seasoned left-handed pitcher showcased his impressive speed, reaching triple digits on the radar gun with six of his 16 pitches, clocking in at a maximum of 101.8 mph, while effectively dismantling Cleveland's lineup. Chapman has assumed the closer role for the Pirates following David Bednar's struggles, and his outstanding post-All-Star break stats suggest he may retain the position indefinitely. With a remarkable 2.12 ERA, 0.76 WHIP, and a 28:4 K:BB ratio over 17 innings, Chapman continues to excel on the mound. Although Saturday's save marked his first since July 11, it is unlikely to be his final save of the season.

One run is batted in by Miguel Vargas.

Miguel Vargas had a performance of 1-for-2, including a double, an RBI, a run, and a walk in the game against the Mets on Saturday. Since joining the White Sox, Vargas has faced difficulties, managing only eight hits out of 76 at-bats, with one home run, four RBIs, and five runs scored. Although his numbers are affected by the team's performance, he has also recorded a 27.9 percent strikeout rate during this period. Despite these challenges, Vargas continues to hold the position of the primary third baseman for the White Sox, a role that is likely to persist until Yoán Moncada is back in action.

Yulieski Gurriel Jr. hits his 17th home run.

In Saturday's 8-6 loss to the Dodgers, Yulieski Gurriel Jr. had a strong performance going 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a two-run double, and an additional run scored. Gurriel had a standout month in August, batting .305 with three home runs, 12 RBI, 17 runs, and two stolen bases in 24 games. He made an impact early in the game on Saturday, collecting both hits in his first two at-bats. So far this season, Gurriel has accumulated a .275/.317/.431 slash line with 17 home runs, 70 RBI, 69 runs, 22 doubles, and seven stolen bases in 124 games.

Andy Pagés is set to return to the Dodgers on Sunday.

The Dodgers are planning to bring Andy Pagés back from Triple-A Oklahoma City today as rosters expand. Pagés was sent to Oklahoma City on Aug. 19 after spending four months with the Dodgers. In the current season, he has a .246/.305/.388 slash line with 22 doubles, nine home runs, and 36 RBI in 394 plate appearances. With Mookie Betts now playing in right field, Pagés is expected to have limited playing time in the outfield upon his return to the major league team.

Yuli Gurriel was traded to the Kansas City Royals.

According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, Atlanta sent Yulieski Gurriel to the Royals in exchange for cash on Saturday. The Royals, who had already claimed Tommy Pham and Robbie Grossman off waivers earlier that day, are bolstering their organizational depth by acquiring Gurriel in a minor-league trade. Despite being on the injured list since August 23 due to an unspecified injury, the 40-year-old first baseman has had a productive season at Triple-A Gwinnett, hitting .292/.378/.485 with 12 home runs and 48 RBI in 75 games. Once he is healthy again, the Royals will need to add him to their 40-man roster before he can potentially make his season debut with Kansas City.

Yandy Díaz is back in the lineup on Sunday.

According to a report by Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune, Yandy Díaz (knee) will be leading off as the designated hitter in Sunday's game against the Padres. The 33-year-old sat out Saturday's game following his early exit on Friday due to left knee patellar tendinitis. However, he is returning to play on Sunday for the final game of the series against San Diego. Yandy had an impressive performance in August, posting a .349/.396/.558 slash line with three doubles and two home runs in his last 12 games.

Yasmani Grandal took a break on Saturday.

Yasmani Grandal did not play in Pittsburgh's game against Cleveland on Saturday. Despite having a successful six-game hitting streak, where he went 7-for-20 with two home runs, three RBIs, and five runs scored, he was rested in favor of Henry Davis. Grandal is anticipated to return to the lineup on Sunday.
