Adolis García, Mitch Garver and Nathaniel Lowe slugged back-to-back-to-back solo homers off of Jimmy Herget in the sixth inning on Monday, powering the Rangers to a 5-1 victory over the Angels.

After Josh Jung popped out to start the sixth inning, García jumped on a 1-0 sinker and pulverized it for a 394-foot solo shot that tied the game at 1-1. Garver followed with a go-ahead solo shot and Nathaniel Lowe extended the lead to 3-1. García also drew a walk in the ballgame, finishing the night 1-for-3. On the season, the 30-year-old outfielder is slashing .245/.327/.505 with an impressive 37 homers, 104 RBI and nine stolen bases in 609 plate appearances.

Yordan Álvarez went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run on Monday night, powering the Astros to a much-needed 5-1 victory over the Mariners.

Álvarez victimized Mariners’ ace Luis Castillo for a mammoth 439-foot solo shot in the third inning that extended the Astros’ lead to 4-0. He also doubled in the ballgame. With his two-hit attack, the 26-year-old slugger is now slashing a robust .297/.411/.593 with 30 homers, 96 RBI, and 24 doubles through 109 games and 473 plate appearances this season.

José Abreu legged out his first triple since 2021 and scored a run as the Astros topped the Mariners on Monday evening in Seattle.

The 36-year-old started a rally with his leadoff triple off of Luis Castillo in the second inning and came around to score the game’s first run on a two-out RBI single by Mauricio Dubon. That would be his lone hit in four at-bats on the evening. It has been a disappointing season overall for Abreu, as he’s hitting just .235/.295/.377 with 17 homers and 84 RBI.
