X-rays came back clean on Yordan Álvarez's left ankle.

Álvarez was pulled from Tuesday night's game against the Diamondbacks in the bottom of the fifth inning after rolling his ankle on a single in the bottom of the first. "Hopefully he’ll be ready in a couple of days," said Astros manager Dusty Baker. Álvarez entered Tuesday with a .303/.407/.614 season slash line. The 25-year-old slugger is almost certainly going to sit out of Wednesday's series finale versus the D-backs. Houston is off Thursday.

Orioles' Cionel Pérez: Some troubles but another "clean" inning on Tuesday.

Pérez ran into trouble on Tuesday's 13-9 loss against the Red Sox but was able to pitch a "clean" inning. Pérez allowed a hit and walked a batter before completing a scoreless inning. He also struck out one. Pérez left his ERA in 1.29 for the season with 51 SO in 55.2 innings.

Yasmani Grandal went 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts as the White Sox were shut out by the Twins on Tuesday night in Minnesota.

It was the seventh consecutive loss for the White Sox -- and this one was a particularly poor showing on the offensive end, as the team tallied just two hits and zero runs off of Bailey Ober and company. Grandal struck out twice in the contest -- though every batter in the White Sox lineup struck out at least once, and Grandal was one of five that went down on strikes twice in the game. He sports a miserable .201/.302/.272 slash line with five homers and 26 RBI in 361 plate appearances on the season. In the same game, José Abreu and Yoán Moncada went 1-for-6 combined. Abreu went hitless with a strikeout while Moncada was 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.

Ray's Randy Arozarena: Hitless against Cleveland.

Randy Arozarena went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts on Monday's 6-5 victory over the Guardians. The outfielder left his slash line in .270/.332/.457 with 20 HR, 32 stolen bases, and 88 RBI.

Astros' Yuli Gurriel: One hit on Tuesday against the D-backs.

Gurriel, playing a miserable season, went 1-for-4 on Tuesday's 10-2 victory over the D-backs. Gurriel added a single for his RBI #51 of the year and he also walked. The veteran infielder is having the worst season of his MLB career, slashing .238/.284/.356 with 8 HR, 51 RBI, only 29 walks, and 72 SO in 140 games.

Yandy Díaz (shoulder) remained out of the Rays' starting lineup for Tuesday's series opener against the Guardians.

Díaz appears poised to miss his seventh consecutive game on Tuesday evening in Cleveland. The 31-year-old on-base machine received a cortisone injection last week do deal with left shoulder soreness and needs some additional time off to rest and recover. He's avoided a trip to the injured list and should be ready to fully return sometime this week. Late in the game Díaz pinched hit and went 0-for-1.
