Rockies activated INF José Iglesias from the 10-day injured list.

He'll replace the injured Charlie Blackmon (knee) on the Rockies active roster. Iglesias has been shelved since September 4 due to a right hand contusion. Before being shelved, the 32-year-old was hitting .300/.337/.392 with three homers, 47 RBI and two stolen bases in 451 plate appearances.

Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Scoreless on Wednesday.

In a hard to take 3-2 loss to the Nationals in extra innings, Raisel Iglesias pitched a scoreless inning for the Braves. With his outing Iglesias saw his ERA go down to 2.64 for the season, while in the last 15 games the righthander hasn't allowed an earned run in 14 2/3 innings. Iglesias will be a key arm for the Braves bullpen headed to the 2022 postseason, serving as a setup man for veteran closer Kenley Jansen.

Rays manager Kevin Cash said after Wednesday's game that it's unlikely Yandy Díaz (shoulder) returns to the starting lineup on Thursday.

Díaz made the initial lineup card on Wednesday night, but was scratched before the game due to continued soreness in his ailing left shoulder. Cash noted that Díaz felt the soreness while taking ground balls during pregame work and that it's unlikely he'll be able to give it a go on Thursday. He should still be considered day-to-day.

White Sox's José Abreu: Two hits in Sox's 8th straight loss.

Abreu went 2-for-3 with his double #37 of the year and 300 of his MLB career, in a 8-4 loss to the Twins on Wednesday. Abreu also added his RBI #74 of the year while his BA was lifted to .305 (178-584). In the same game Yasmani Grandal went 1-for-4 with his RBI #27 of the season. It was the 8th straight loss for the White Sox, a team that lacked total chemistry during the season.

Yankees' Aroldis Chapman: Could still provide relief value.

On a night entirely dedicated to Aaron Judge and his 61st HR record - video below -, Aroldis Chapman showed some signs that he can still be a valuable reliever heading to the postseason. Chapman completed a shutout inning on Wednesday night, using 13 pitches - 11 of them for strikes - and striking out two while reducing his ERA to 4.24 for the year. Chapman was in complete control last night and after retiring Matt Chapman, he was even more effective with the other two batters he faced, closing out the last game of the regular season against Toronto with a 8-3 victory. With closer Clay Holmes experiencing few hiccups lately, Chapman could use the postseason to show that he could - again - be the primary ninth inning man for the 2022 AL East champions.

Yordan Álvarez (ankle) was not in the Astros' starting lineup Wednesday.

No surprise after he rolled his left ankle on Tuesday night. X-rays came back negative for any structural damage, though, and the 25-year-old slugger should be ready to rock following Thursday's scheduled team off day. Christian Vázquez took a turn at DH on Wednesday versus the Diamondbacks.

Astros' Aledmis Díaz: Hitless on Wednesday.

Díaz went 0-for-5 in a 5-2 loss to the D-backs on Wednesday night. Díaz batted second and played second base and the left field, in the absence of outfielders Yordan Álvarez and infielder José Altuve. Díaz, a utility man for the Astros, is slashing .251/.297/.419 with 12 HR, and 38 RBI this year.

A's Norge Ruíz: Total disaster against the Angels.

Norge Ruíz was a disaster in his relief outing this Wednesday against the Angels. In a 4-1 loss to the Angels, Ruíz took the mound in the 6th inning, loading the bases allowing a single and walking two batters. He was immediately replaced and his relief, Kirby Snead, prevented more runs retiring the inning without major complications. Ruíz has been a disaster since he was promoted to the Majors back in August 19, exhibiting 6.61 ERA in 16 1/3 innings while hitters collect a .343 BA against him.

Yoán Moncada was held out of the White Sox starting lineup on Wednesday due to a bone bruise on his left foot.

The 27-year-old sustained the injury when he fouled a ball off his foot during Tuesday's game -- though fortunately X-rays came back negative for any fractures. Moncada has actually shown some signs of life at the plate recently after a brutal start to the season -- slashing .288/.329/.538 with five homers and nine RBI over his last 19 ballgames. Josh Harrison covered third base in his absence and batted eighth for the White Sox on Wednesday.

Blue Jays' Lourdes Gurriel: Not yet running bases. Gurriel (hamstring) hasn't yet resumed running the bases, Ethan Diamandas of Sports Illustrated reported. Gurriel recently ramped up his workload by doing some hitting and throwing, and he was also able to begin a running progression. However, he hasn't yet been cleared to run the bases. The team hopes that he'll be able to do so Friday, which could put him on track for a return late in the regular season or early in the playoffs.

Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Retreated to bench. Gurriel wasn't in the starting lineup Wednesday against Arizona. Gurriel went 3-for-17 with a double, four RBI, a run, a walk and three strikeouts over the last four games and will get a breather Wednesday. Trey Mancini took over at first base and batted sixth.
