Luis Robert went 3-for-4 and scored a run as the White Sox triumphed over the Angels 3-0 on Monday afternoon in Chicago.

Robert singled off of Patrick Sandoval in the opening inning and came around to score the White Sox second run of the frame on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Jake Burger. He added another pair of singles and a strike out before the day was through. With the three-hit attack, he's now slashing .246/.258/.426 with three homers, six RBI and five stolen bases on the season.

José Abreu went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored as the White Sox topped the Angels on Monday afternoon.

Abreu led off the sixth inning with a single off of Patrick Sandoval then hustled all the way around to score on a two-out double off the bat of Adam Engel. He's off to a slow start offensively through the first month of the season, slashing just .224/.322/.342 with a pair of homers, seven RBI and a 17/9 K/BB ratio through his first 21 games.

Vladimir Gutiérrez is scheduled to make his next start Wednesday against the Brewers in Milwaukee.

Gutiérrez was initially lined up to start the series opener in Milwaukee on Tuesday, but an off day Monday allowed the Reds to reorder their pitching schedule. As a result, Tyler Mahle will move to the front of the order and start Tuesday, setting him up to make a second turn Sunday against Pittsburgh. Meanwhile, Gutiérrez will be limited to the one start Wednesday for this week.

Yordan Álvarez hit a solo homer in Monday's win over the Mariners.

Álvarez went 1-for-3 with his seventh HR of the year and 13 RBI, to help the Astros to a 3-0 win over the Mariners. The Astros, wearing their Space City uniforms, saw how Álvarez opened Houston's fourth with his solo shot off LHP Marco González, to put the Astros 1-0 up. He also drew a walk, and the slugger is now slashing .262/.360/.615. The Cuban outfielder has 3 HR over his last 4 games. In the game, Yuli Gurriel went 1-for-4 adding his 10th double of the year.

Aledmis Díaz was out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mariners.

With Jose Altuve (hamstring) returning from the 10-day injured list Monday and reclaiming his spot as the Astros' everyday second baseman, Díaz's playing time is likely to take a substantial hit. He had been filling in at the position for the past two weeks along with Niko Goodrum, with Díaz starting in eight of the 12 games that Altuve missed. Díaz's versatility gives him some other avenues to at-bats, but with all of the Astros' key position players at full strength, the 31-year-old will only pick up starts when one of the regulars requires a breather.

Yandy Díaz homered and scored two runs Monday in a victory over the Athletics.

Díaz, 30, gave the Rays an early lead with a leadoff homer off of Daulton Jefferies. He also singled and came around to score on an error in the third. In 19 games with the Rays, Díaz is now slashing a very respectable .306/.442/.335 with two homes and five runs driven in.

Mets right-hander Yoan López was handed a three-game suspension on Monday for intentionally throwing at Kyle Schwarber during Sunday's victory over the Phillies.

López tried to hit Schwarber -- twice unsuccessfully -- in the ninth inning as retaliation for Francisco Lindor getting plunked earlier in the ballgame. He was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday night, so he'll need to serve that suspension once he makes his way back to the big leagues. Mets manager Buck Showalter was also given a one-game ban.

Michel Báez (elbow) began a minor league rehab assignment Saturday with Single-A Lake Elsinore.

Báez tossed a pair of scoreless innings Saturday in his rehab assignment debut for Single-A Lake Elsinore. The 26-year-old righty didn't allow a baserunner and notched one strikeout. He hasn't appeared in the majors since August 29, 2020 due to injuries. He underwent Tommy John elbow reconstructive surgery last March.

Moncada (oblique) has gone 3-for-7 with a home run, two strikeouts and a walk across two games during his rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte.

Moncada appears to be nearing full strength, as he attempted a stolen base Saturday and proceeded to slug a home run Sunday. Most importantly, all indications are that he's had no setbacks with his oblique to this point, as manager Tony La Russa reported that the infielder was able to move freely without discomfort, per Joey Pollizze of MLB.com. The team has yet to announce the date when Moncada will make his season debut, though the White Sox begin a series against the Cubs on Tuesday that could include his return if he continues on the same track.
