Rangers' Adolis García: Reaches 20-20. García went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Rockies. Twenty is the appropriate number for García this week. A day after mashing his 20th home run, the outfielder stole his 20th base to achieve the first 20-20 of his career. A third "20" can be added to that; the outfielder's fourth-inning double extended his batting streak to 20 games. García is having a strong second half -- .302/.353/.488 over 33 games -- after a first half that alternated between good stretches and deep funks. In the same game, Rockies' shortstop José Iglesias went 0-for-4 with a run scored, leaving his BA in .308 this year.
Randy Arozarena went 3-for-5 with an RBI double in Tuesday's win over the Angels.
Arozarena added on to the Rays' massive lead by lining a 100.4-mph RBI ground-rule double to left field in the bottom of the eighth. In the month of August (70 at-bats), he's batting .300 with five home runs and three steals.
Luis Robert went 3-for-5 with a run scored Tuesday in Baltimore.
Robert reached base twice in his return to the lineup Saturday, doubled in his second game back Monday and contributed three singles in this one. In other words, it appears that his wrist is okay.
Astros' Yulieski Gurriel and Yordan Álvarez: One hit each on Tuesday.
In a 4-2 victorya against the Twins, Yulieski Gurriel and Yordan Álvarez had one hit each. Gurriel went 1-for-3 with a walk, while Álvarez was 1-for-4 with a strikeout. Gurriel, in a terrible season offensively, is improving towards the end of the year slashing .310/.394/.379 with 4 RBI in his last 7 games. Meanwhile Yordan is slumping in his last 15 games, compiling a .245/.311/.321 slash line with 1 HR and 7 RBI. Yordan is leading all Cuban players this year with 31 homers and 79 RBI.
White Sox's José Abreu and Yoán Moncada: Hitless on Tuesday against the Orioles.
José Abreu and Yoán Moncada went 0-for-9 on Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Orioles. Abreu went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts while Moncada walked once and also struck out. Abreu and Moncada are having opposite seasons, while the veteran first baseman is slashing .310/.385/.463 with 14 homers, and 58 RBI in 121 games, Moncada has played only 78 games showing a slash line of .195/.268/.314 with 7 HR, and 40 RBI.
Ray's Yandy Díaz: Two runs on Tuesday.
Díaz went 1-for-4 with two runs scored on Tuesday's 11-1 victory against the Angels. Díaz added his RBI #46 of the year while also walked. The Cuban third baseman - DHing on Tuesday - is slashing .308/.357/.615 with a homer, and 8 RBI in his last 7 games.
Astros' Aledmys Díaz: Facing multi-week absence. Astros general manager James Click said Sunday that he expects Díaz (groin) to miss "a few weeks," Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports. Click's comments would seem to imply that Diaz, who was placed on the 10-day injured list last Wednesday, won't be ready to go when first eligible to rejoin the Astros this weekend. While Díaz is on the shelf, Yordan Álvarez is expected to pick up more work in left field, which will open up more frequent starts at designated hitter for trade-deadline pickup Trey Mancini.
Reds' José Barrero: Hitless on Tuesday.
Barrero went 0-for-2 with an RBI, two walks, and a strikeout on Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Phillies. Barrero, in his third MLB season, has a slash line of .175/.200/.286 with 2 HR, and 7 RBI in 18 games this year.
Jay's Lourdes Gurriel Jr.: One hit against the Red Sox on Tuesday.
Gurriel Jr. went 1-for-5 with a run scored and his RBI #50 on Tuesday's 9-3 win over the Red Sox. Gurriel is having a phenomenal season compiling a .298 BA in 109 games and 442 plate appearances.
