2015 Postseason: Tigers beat Colts with 7-run 8th inning, take 3-1 lead

It started out with small ball: a dead ball, a single, a bunt, and another single. By the time the 8th inning was over on Monday night, the Tigers had scored seven runs, Yeniet Pérez had hit a single for the ages and the Ciego de Avila Tigers were running away with Game 4 of the Cuban semifinals.

The result was a 9-4 victory for the Tigers over the Colts on a night they were facing Granma's best pitcher, Lázaro Blanco.

The win gives the Tigers a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

The Tigers, who lost the first game of the series but won the second playing at Mártires de Barbados Stadium, have won the first two games at the José R. Cepero Park against the Colts and can sweep the series at home on Tuesday afternoon with Yander Guevara facing José A. Rodríguez.

More information later.

Osvaldo Vázquez (left) scores after his two-run homer in the seventh inning. Yeniet Pérez (right), singled in the 8th inning to give Ciego a 5-4 lead, as part of a seven-run outburst.
