The Cuban National Baseball Team finished a friendly series with Nicaragua yesterday, when Game 4 of the series was cancelled due to rain.

Team Cuba ended the series against Nicaragua with a 0-2-1 record. Cuba and Nicaragua tied the first game of the series, while Cuba lost Games 2 (4-1) and 3 (4-3).

This was the first lost ever for a Cuban National Team in a friendly series with Nicaragua.

The National Team will return to Cuba today, before the final roster for the baseball competition of the 2019 Pan American Games gets announced on Thursday, July 19.

The National Team ended its preparation for the Pan-Am Games with a 9-13 record, considering its participation in the 2019 Can-Am League (8-7), the annual Cuba-USA Friendly Series (1-4) and the International Series (0-2-1) against Nicaragua.

Cuba will play in Group B of the Pan American Games alongside Colombia, Canada and Argentina.

The 2019 Pan American Games will be held in Lima, Peru and the baseball competition will begin on July 29.

Cuba has won 12 Pan American titles in baseball but Canada is the double defending champion, after winning back to back titles in 2011 and 2015.
