2018 Postseason: Las Tunas beat Granma in Game 2 to take 2-0 lead in Cuban Final Series

Rafael Viñales homered, Las Tunas scored 11 runs and Alejandro Meneses threw an excellent relief as host Las Tunas beat the Granma Stallions, 11-4, in Game 2 of the 2018 Cuban Finals.

With the series moving to Granma, Game 3 will be played at Mártires de Barbados Stadium on Tuesday at 7:15 pm.

Granma opened the score in the first inning against youngster Yariel Rodríguez but the Woodcutters’ offense did not wait long before taking a decisive 6-1 lead against starting pitcher Ulfrido García and reliever Yosver Zulueta.

García couldn't get an out in the first inning allowing three hits and walking one batter and Zulueta allowed Viñales three-run homer over the left field wall to give the home team a decisive 6-1 lead.

An inning later Alexander Ayala' single extended the lead to 7-1 and three more runs in the third inning were too much for Granma.

Las Tunas starter Yariel Rodríguez completed three innings of one run but left the game in the fourth when Granma scored three times. The final line on Rodríguez was 3 innings, 4 hits, 4 earned runs, 5 walks, one HBP and one struckout.

From this point reliever Alejandro Meneses took care of business for Las Tunas completing six scoreless innings allowing two hits, striking out four while walking two to earn his first career postseason win.
