2016 Cuban Finals: Ciego One Win from Cuban Championship

Ciego jumped out to a 6-0 lead and then held on as Pinar roared back, falling a run short in the 6-5 win by the Tigres. Yunier Cano, pitching on one day of rest after throwing five innings of relief the previous day gave up four hits but only one unearned run to preserve the victory. Dachel Duquesne got the start and the win for Ciego.

Yosvani Torres struggled for Pinar. He gave up an RBI single in the third to Yorbis Borroto to fall behind 1-0. A leadoff walk, three singles and two errors led to a three run outburst for Ciego in the fourth and an early shower for Torres. A two run homer by Osvaldo Vazquez in the sixth upped the score to 6-0.

Pinar did not quit. Pedro Duenas ripped an RBI single in the seventh to score the first run for Pinar. The RBI single ended the day for Duquesne. Pinar rallied for three more runs in the eighth and grabbed a run in the ninth but they needed more to capture the victory.
