CBF finalizes Pan Am roster

The Cuban Baseball Federation (CBF) announced the 2019 Pan-American National Team roster on Thursday following National Team Training and friendly competitions in Mexico, Canada, USA and Nicaragua. 

The final 24-man roster will now travel to Lima, Peru, to compete in the 2019 COPABE Pan-American Games which begins on July 26. The baseball competition will begin on July 29.

Team Cuba will look to secure its thirteen Pan-American Championships gold medal. The Cuban National Team won ten straight Pan-Am tournament titles dating back to 1971.

The athletes selected for the Pan-Am National Team are chosen from the Cuban National Series (CBS) 16 team rosters and eight of them were selected from international clubs in Canada, Mexico and Japan. 

Team Cuba, that plays in Group B of the tournament, will open play in the COPABE Pan-American Games against Colombia on Monday, July 29, at 11:05 a.m. ET in Lima, Peru. On July 30 Cuba will face two time and defending champion Canada, at 8:05 p.m. ET, while the final round-robin game will be against Argentina, on July 31, at 4:05 p.m. ET.
